Facebook Paper users can now share stories with anyone

Facebook has tweaked its Paper app to encourage more sharing.

Released on Tuesday, version 1.0.2 of Facebook Paper now lets you share certain Facebook posts by email, text message, or Facebook Message. Previously, the app restricted you to only sharing posts with your Facebook friends.

iPhone 5S users gobble up the most data, says study

iPhone 5S owners are the most data hungry of mobile device users, says a study released Thursday by JDSU.

Users of the 5S slurp up 7 times more data over the study’s benchmark iPhone 3G in developed markets and 20 times more data in developing markets. Apple smartphones and tablets accounted for six of the top ten most gluttonous devices with (more…)

iOS, Android users equally happy with their apps -- analyst

The top iOS and Android apps are about on par in terms of customer satisfaction, says Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster.

Surveying user reviews and comments about the top 200 free and paid iOS and Android apps, Munster found a virtual tie between the two environments, though Android had a slight edge. The 112 apps common to both platforms scored an average rating of 4.28 (more…)

iOS 7 users report daylight saving time glitch

iOS 7 seems to have trouble telling the time following the end of daylight saving time in some countries.

Several readers of AppleInsider told the blog site that the line indicating the current time is off by an hour in the Calendar app. As an example, people for whom the current time is 6:00 a.m. will see 7:00 a.m. marked instead.

iTunes Radio snags 11 million users

Apple ‘s iTunes Radio has already picked up 11 million listeners since its launch last week, Apple announced Monday.

Available through iTunes 11 and iOS 7, iTunes Radio takes a page from Pandora’s playbook. You can create and add different music stations to your feed based on your tastes and listen to songs streamed from each one. You can fine-tune each station to play only (more…)

WhatsApp to charge iPhone users annual subscription

iPhone owners who use WhatsApp for their instant messaging needs will now have to pay 99 cents a year for the privilege.

Following a new version of WhatsApp for iPhone released on Tuesday, the developer unveiled the new pricing scheme.

iOS 7 tells Apple users to get excited again, says analyst

The updates that Apple showed off in iOS 7 could prove to be the most important ones since the iPhone debuted in 2007, at least in the opinion of Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster.

Some iOS 6.1.3 users hit by battery drain and Wi-Fi issues

Another iOS update, another round of complaints.
