iPhone 5S, 5C lure fewer upgrades from prior model, report says

The new iPhones have apparently convinced only a small percentage of iPhone 5 owners to upgrade.

Polling 400 US phone customers that activated an iPhone between September 20 and October 20, research firm CIRP found that only 6 percent of iPhone 5 owners jumped to an 5S or 5C. In contrast, 12 percent of iPhone 4S owners had upgraded to the iPhone 5 over (more…)

Analyst: 18.8M iPhone 3GS to iPhone 4S upgrades

Analysts expect more than 100 million iPhones to be sold this year.

Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster, based on sales and upgrade data, thinks that nearly 19 million customers with the iPhone 3GS will upgrade to the iPhone 4S this year, AppleInsider reports.

Though Munster’s predictions are admittedly assumptions, he says they are conservative. For Apple watchers, the numbers are compelling. (more…)

has now been completed across all the 3G cell sites. Does this mean AT&T subscribers now get to enjoy improved connectivity levels? Unfortunately, AT&T reminds that only half the job is done as yet.
