iPhone buyers break their contracts to get latest model

Some mobile users are so eager for Apple ‘s latest iPhone that they’ll break their wireless contracts to grab one.

Almost half (45 percent) of iPhone buyers recently polled by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) said they paid a penalty to cancel their contract just to pick up the iPhone 4S. Some switched carriers while (more…)

Tether Responds To Apple’s Decision To Ban Their Tethering App

Yesterday, Apple pulled Tether.com’s iPhone app -
. iTether allowed users to use their iPhone ’s data connection to surf the internet on a Mac or PC over USB.

Tether has published a post on their blog in a response to Apple ‘s decision to ban their tethering app.
We were not surprised by the ban as Apple has previously banned such applications from the App Store possibly due to pressure from carriers like AT&T, Verizon and Sprint who offer (more…)

HTC Files Lawsuit Against Apple Alleging iOS Devices and Mac Infringes Their Patents

As if there wasn’t enough news in the past couple of days, today
. The three patents, HTC claims, are violated by the
line of products.
The lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Delaware seeks to halt Apple ‘s importation and sale of infringing products in the United States. It also seeks compensatory damages, triple damages for willful infringement and other remedies.

App Developers Pulling Their Apps From US App Store Fearing Lawsuits

The legal tussle between App developers and patent trolls doesn’t seem to end. The newest addition to the list of patent trolls is Kootol, an India based company, which has sent legal notices to a number of companies including App development firm Iconfactory – developer of Twitterrific – a popular Twitter app. Kotool software claims they infringe on a US patent for Twitter style real time feeds.

mSpot App Allows Users To Listen To Their iTunes Music In The Cloud

mSpot, the cloud based music streaming service has been around for quite some time now. The service, which was released back in June 2010 allows users to store their music online and listen to it anywhere, anytime including on their mobile devices.
