reports that developers of iPhone app QuasiDisk have sneaked in the tethering feature in the latest update.
While the description of the iPhone app in the App Store does not mention the tethering feature and claims to be just a simple file manager and file viewer, the YouTube video as you can see below shows how to tether your laptop to the iPhone ‘s 3G data connection to surf on the web using QuasiDisk’s hidden tethering feature.

Tethering app pops up on iTunes, then gets pulled

Tethering application iTether slipped into the iTunes App Store today but has since been pulled.

The $14.99 app allowed iPhone customers to use their smartphone data plan to power the Internet connection for their PC or Mac through a USB cable. The app comes from Tether.

Carriers have traditionally frowned upon these kinds of applications, which encourage heavy data usage. (more…)

Apple has approved a tethering application from Tether.com called iTether in the App Store. The
is a companion app for the Mac and PC versions, which allows users to use their iPhone ‘s data connection to surf the internet on a Mac or PC over USB.

Yesterday, Apple pulled Tether.com’s iPhone app -

Forbes reports that Verizon – Apple ‘s second iPhone carrier partner is also going to follow in AT&T’s footsteps. According to Forbes, Verizon will start blocking customers using the unofficial tethering from today.

AT&T Continues To Clamp Down On Unofficial iPhone Tethering

and using the tethering option unofficially have received a reminder message from AT&T this morning, informing them that they’re planning to update their plan to a tethering plan ($45/mo, incl. 4GB).
Back in March,
