Google Translate iOS app adds support for more languages

Google has enhanced its Translate app for iPhone and iPad users with more language support and a couple of iOS 7 features.

Released on Tuesday, version 2.1 of the app adds handwriting input for 12 more languages. So you can now get translations for characters that you write in Arabic, Esperanto, Gujarati, Hebrew, Javanese, Maltese, Maori, Marathi, Persian, Punjabi, Telugu, (more…)

Netflix iOS update adds HD streaming, AirPlay support

Netflix has tuned up its iOS app with a couple of benefits for those of you running iOS 7.

Although TeamViewer QuickSupport doesn't show you what's happening in real-time, it does provide a lot of info about the connected mobile device.

Reeder app adds Feedly support after Google Readers demise

Reeder has added support for feeds from Feedly.

Users of the RSS iOS app Reeder can now add feeds from Feedly following the retirement of Google Reader.

Released on Tuesday, version 3.2 of Reeder for iOS no longer supports Google Reader since the search giant’s RSS service has kicked the bucket. But the new support for Feedly should be able to fill the gap.

AT&Ts GoPhone prepaid service adds 4G support

iPhone owners will finally be able to tap into all the benefits of AT&T’s prepaid GoPhone plan.

Garageband for iOS update adds Audiobus support

A new update to Apple ‘s Garageband software on iOS adds compatibility with popular third-party audio app Audiobus.

As part of the change, users can play and record from Audiobus-supported apps back into Garageband. That includes iOS apps from Korg, along with Animoog, DM1 – The Drum Machine, Loopy, ThumbJam, and others.

iOS 6 users who want to grab a cup of coffee at Starbucks can now pay for it through their iPhones.

Launched yesterday, the latest update to the Starbucks iOS app stirs in support for Apple ‘s Passbook.

iPhone 5 not likely to support NFC, says new report

Will the iPhone 5 support mobile payments via NFC? A report out yesterday from the folks at AnandTech says no.

Alleged photos of the iPhone 5’s assembly posted by Taiwan-based blog Apple .pro pointed to a part that not seen in previous photos. The dimensions of the part reportedly matched those of certain NFC chips, leading to speculation that the mystery component could be an NFC chip.

Apple reportedly talks iPhone 5 LTE support with Korean carriers

Will the iPhone 5 support 4G LTE? It seems almost a given at this point, but here’s yet another potential sign.

Apple has been negotiating with two Korean mobile carriers to provide the iPhone 5 through their LTE networks, says the Korea Times. Officials from both SK Telecom and KT, who asked not to be identified, reportedly revealed the information.
