Apple took home more than $10 billion last year from mobile app sales.
Announcing the news on Tuesday, Apple said that more than $1 billion was generated in December alone. During that time, customers downloaded almost 3 billion apps, making December Apple ‘s most lucrative month since the App Store opened for business.

Apple has brought back its personal pickup service for buyers of the iPhone 5S.
Through in-store pickup, you can purchase the 5S through Apple ‘s online store or through the Apple Store mobile app. Once the phone is available, you’ll receive an e-mail alerting you that it’s ready to be picked up at your desired Apple Store location.

Apple customers curious about the new fingerprint scanner on the iPhone 5S will be able to check one out in the flesh, according to 9to5Mac.
Citing information from unspecified sources, the blog site said Monday that a special demo application will be available on iPhone 5S floor models starting September 20.

Released yesterday, version 2.5 of the app now lets you see whether an item that you order online can be delivered to your local Apple store.

Apple is finally tapping into its own Passbook app by adding it as an option for store gift cards.
