Sony said to be talking to Apple about camera for new iPhone

Sony is in negotiations with Apple for supply of sensors for a “new iPhone ,” according to a Japan-based report.

The talks call for Sony to double the supply of camera components for a “new iPhone slated to roll out as early as next year,” according to a Wednesday report in Nikkei, Japan’s largest business daily.

Apples future processors said to be made by Samsung, TSMC

Apple A7 processor: Future iPhones will use chips — such as the rumored A8 and A9 — from both Samsung and TSMC reportedly.

Both Samsung and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) will make future Apple processors, according to a report from Taipei-based Digitimes.

Japan makers said to ramp up iPhone 5S, 5C parts production

With new iPhones expected to be unveiled this month, production at Japan Display, TDK, and others is in high gear, according to the Nikkei business daily.

Japan Display Inc. (JDI), a merger of the small and medium-size display businesses of Sony, Hitachi, and Toshiba, is in “full production” Nikkei said in a report Thursday.

Next iPhone, iPad Mini said to face delays over new tech

The next major versions of two of Apple ‘s key products are said to face delays as the company scrambles to add new security and display technologies.

In a note to investors this morning, summarized over at Apple Insider, KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo said the next iPhone is being held up by Apple ‘s desire to include finger-scanning technology.

Next iPhone said to get new touch panel tech

Apple ‘s next iPhone may tap into new touch panel technology, allowing for a lighter device, according to an Asia-based report.

An improvement in production “yield rates” of “in-cell touch panels” has induced Apple to begin working with two Japanese companies, DigiTimes said,
citing sources.

Those panels are being made by Japan-based Sharp and a division of Toshiba.

Production of Apple ‘s next iPhone is said to be in full swing, with the company on track to have some 5 million to 6 million phones ready by the end of the month, according to a new report.
