iPhone 5 could see June debut at Apple confab, report says

Smartphone users chomping at the bit for the next iPhone could get a taste of it by June.

The latest rumors about Apple ‘s flagship phone suggest that the iPhone 5 could be announced in June at Apple ‘s next Worldwide Developers Conference. This latest report comes from analysts at Daiwa Securities as reported by the Chinese newspaper Commercial Times.

Apple ‘s released their yearly Supplier Responsibility Progress Report, which details the efforts they make in improving worker and factory conditions as well as environmental standards compliance. Besides major changes – like a massive increase in audits – Apple ‘s disclosed a list of suppliers that compose 97% of its expenditures.

Japanese blog – Macotakara reports that according to their Chinese sources, Pegatron and Foxconn – Apple ‘s manufacturing partners have started assembling the

iPhone, iPad processor made by Samsung in Texas, report says

The processor running in the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 is being produced in Texas, a new report claims.

According to Reuters, citing sources, Samsung is producing the Apple A5 processor at a new 1.6-million-square-foot factory in Austin. The facility, which went into full production earlier this month, cost Samsung $3.6 billion. (more…)
