Vonage Releases New iPhone App; Offers 30% Cheaper International Calling Rates Than Skype

Vonage, one of the leading VoIP and SIP companies has released a new iPhone app called Vonage Mobile, which features free app-to-app calls and international calling rates that Vonage claims are on an average 70% less than major mobile carriers and 30% less than Skype.
With the new iPhone app, you no longer need to be a Vonage phone service customer to use the app. In addition to the free app-to-app calls, calls to Vonage VoIP home and business users are also free.
The iPhone app is available for download for free. You can buy Vonage credits for international calls via in-app purchase that are available for $9.99 and $4.99.
Vonage is not only offering international calling rates that are 30% cheaper, it is also prepared to give Apple a 30% cut for Vonage credits to offer customers a better user experience compared to its rival Skype.
To celebrate the launch of their new iPhone app, Vonage is also allowing users to call any phone in the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico from anywhere in the world for free.

Spigen Releases Tempered Glass Screen Protector For iPhone

Typically these screen protectors are made of plastic. However, folks at Spigen have an interesting solution. They’ve launched a screen protector made of tempered glass to protect iPhone ‘s screen from damage and scratches.
The tempered glass screen protector is 0.4mm thick and apparently three times stronger than regular PET film. Spigen claims that sharp objects like knives and keys will not scratch their tempered glass screen protector. They have also shot a video to prove it.
The glass screen protector also comes with an oleophobic coating that prevents fingerprints just like iPhone ‘s LCD screen.
We’ve never felt the need to use a screen protector, but if you are paranoid about scratching your iPhone screen, you may want to check this one out.

Along with the updated AirPort Utility app, Apple has also released AirPort Base Station and Time Capsule Firmware Update 7.6.1.
This update is for all 802.11n AirPort Express, 802.11n AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule models. It fixes an issue with wireless performance and provides support for remote access to an AirPort disk or a Time Capsule hard drive with an iCloud account.
The firmware updates can be installed via Airport Utility on the Mac or iOS.

When the app’s listing is viewed in the App Store from an iOS device, the posting date is listed as June 9, 2009, which was during Apple ‘s annual Worldwide Developers Conference just ahead of the public launch of iPhone OS 3.0 and the debut of in-app purchasing. Consequently, GameStore may simply be an internal testing app for the feature that was somehow accidentally published to the public App Store over the weekend.
