Sprint has just announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2011. Sprint reports that it sold 1.8 million iPhones in the last quarter, of which 40 percent were new customers.

iPhone sales jumped last quarter thanks to the debut of the iPhone 4S. But just how many phones did Apple sell around the world?

A bevy of 37 analysts polled for a Fortune story by Philip Elmer-Dewitt all chimed in with their iPhone sales estimates for the holiday quarter. And as usual, the forecasts varied.

Apple to ship 30.3 million iPhones this quarter, says analyst

Apple is expected to ship as many as 30.3 million iPhones this quarter, says investment firm Susquehanna.

That estimate is up from the firm’s prior projection of 27.1 million. And for Apple ‘s full fiscal 2012 year, which started in October, the company could ship as many as 111.4 million iPhones, up from Susquehanna’s previous estimate of 104.4 million.

iPhone to help AT&T grab record smartphone sales this quarter

AT&T is eyeing record smartphone sales, thanks in large part to the iPhone .

AT&T is looking at some happy holidays thanks to a new record expected for smartphone sales.

The carrier anticipates breaking its previous quarterly record by ringing in sales of more than 6.1 million for the final quarter of 2011.

Apple has posted revenue of $28.27 billion and net quarterly profit of $6.62 billion, or $7.05 per diluted share, compared to revenue of $20.34 billion and net quarterly profit of $4.31 billion, or $4.64 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter.
Apple sold 17.07 million 
 in the quarter, up 21 percent over the year-ago quarter.
Apple also sold 11.12 million 
 during the quarter, up 166 percent over the year-ago quarter.

Apple suppliers eyeing strong quarter from iPhone 5

Apple 's suppliers are already profiting from the successor to the iPhone 4.

The iPhone 5 has yet to hit the market, but at least two Apple ‘s suppliers are already seeing strong sales by delivering parts for the new phone, according to Taiwan Economic News.

Apple could make 22 million iPhones next quarter

Apple could produce as many as 22 million iPhones in the next quarter, forecasts Rodman & Renshaw analyst Ashok Kumar.

Apple has posted revenue of $28.57 billion and net quarterly profit of $7.31 billion, or $7.79 per diluted share for the third fiscal quarter (second calendar quarter) 2011 that ended June 25, 2011, which is an all-time record for revenue and earnings.

in the quarter, up 142 percent over the year-ago quarter.
