iPhone sales will be flat this quarter, predicts analyst

Apple ‘s “disappointing” iPhone sales growth could continue this quarter and over the foreseeable future.

Yesterday Apple reported sales of 51 million iPhones for the December quarter. Though that number hit a record, Wall Street analysts had anticipated 55 million in sales, triggering renewed questions about the company’s future iPhone growth.

Apple could reveal iPhone unit sales as high as 57.5 million later today. At least, that’s the forecast from Sanford Bernstein analyst Toni Sacconaghi, Jr.

Apple to sell 51 million iPhones this quarter, forecasts analyst

Apple could sell as many as 51.5 million iPhones during the holiday quarter, says Canaccord Genuity analyst Michael Walkley.

In an investors note out Tuesday, Walkley said he expects strong sales of the iPhone 5S through December as Apple bumps up supply to meet the heavy demand. The more expensive 5S is currently outselling the 5C by a ratio of 2.5 (more…)

The iPhone 5S has proven to be a hot commodity. The iPhone 5C? Not so much, at least according to a new report.

Apple has told two of its iPhone suppliers that it plans to cut orders for the 5C this quarter, the Wall Street Journal said on Wednesday.

Apple could surprise Wall Street by shipping a lot more iPhones this quarter than anticipated.

Pumped up by early interest in the new iPhone 5S and 5C, as many as 34.5 million iPhones could ship for the third quarter as a whole, Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty said in an investors note released Wednesday. That number beats the firm’s earlier forecast of 31 million (more…)

iPhone sales to hit 62 million in fourth quarter, predicts analyst

iPhone sales won’t heat up until the December quarter after Apple unveils a low-cost model. At least, that’s the forecast from analyst Gene Munster.

For June quarter results, which Apple reports on Tuesday, Munster expects iPhone sales of 26 million, on par with Wall Street projections. If accurate, that would match the number sold during the same quarter in 2012.

iPhone shipments hit at least 29 million last quarter, says analyst

Apple could surprise many a Wall Street analyst with calendar second-quarter iPhone shipments of 29 million.

The shipment figure projected by Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty surpasses the consensus estimate of 26.5 million. And the number could reach much higher, Huberty revealed in an investors note released on Wednesday.

iPhone sales hit 35 million last quarter, forecasts analyst

Apple likely sold around 35.5 million iPhones last quarter, according to Piper Jaffay analyst Gene Munster.

In an investors note out Thursday, the analyst cited the 4 million iPhones activated by Verizon last quarter, which represent a 56 percent share of the carrier’s smartphone sales and are inline with Munster’s expectations.
