iTunes – 12 Days of Christmas App Offers Free Songs, Music Videos, Apps And Books From Today Until January 6th

Couple of weeks back, Apple had released their
for users in Canada and most of Europe.
The app offers users a fantastic selection of songs, music videos, apps and books from the iTunes Store for free every day for twelve days starting today until January 6th.
Apple has kicked off the promotion today by offering three songs and videos from Coldplay: Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, God Put a Smile Upon Your Face and Fix You.
The app is compatible with iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G, iPod touch 3G, iPad 2 and iPad 1 and requires iOS 4.3 or later. The free content is available for download for 24 hours and can be downloaded only over a Wi-Fi network.
To ensure you get a reminder every day, please don’t forget to activate Push Notifications when prompted or enable them in Settings –> Notifications –> 12 Days.

Imagine popping in your earbuds, queuing up some tunes, going for a stroll, and then listening to the music morph in response to your surroundings.

Thanks to electronic-music duo Bluebrain–along with a clutch of willing musician friends, the expertise of a software developer, and the iPhone ‘s built-in GPS system–that Brian Eno-esque fantasy is, in fact, a reality.

Washington D.C.-based brothers Ryan and Hays Holladay are continuing their push–perhaps the better word is “meander”–into a new musical realm with their recent album/iPhone app “Central Park (Listen to the Light).” The piece uses GPS to monitor a listener’s movements through New York’s famous green oasis and play different tracks keyed to specific locales–or “zones” and “pockets”–within the park.

The tracks fade into and out of one another, and the overall shape of the album is an everchanging affair, based on a given listener’s wanderings. It’s a “choose your own adventure of an album,” the duo likes to say, conjuring up memories of those children’s books that let young readers pick alternate outcomes and endings.

Music Video Shot Entirely Using iPhone 4S

comes a vastly improved 8-megapixel camera, which allows you to shoot videos in 1080 HD with video stabalization technology.
It seems to have convinced a band called Turnback to shoot their new single, “Cellophane Sky” from album “Drawn In Chalk” entirely using two iPhone 4S’s.
On October 14th, 2011 we received 2 brand new iPhone 4S smart phones. On Sunday October 16th we shot the video at the famous NYC nightclub Webster Hall. Over the next several days, with little sleep and lots of coffee, the final video was finished.
iPhone seems to be a great medium to get some free publicity. Last year, a New York City rock band “Atomic Tom” was in the news for
for help after their instruments were allegedly stolen.
The members of the band hooked their iPhones to a portable speaker system and used various musical iPhone apps to play “Take Me Out” from their latest album on a New York City subway train.
If the video was taken completely using two iPhone 4S’s then it is quite impressive. What do you think?

gMusic: Unofficial Native Google Music Player For iPhone Available In App Store

Back in May, Google launched its music streaming service called

Then in September, it followed it up by releasing an
for its music service, whereas Google Music users were hoping for a mobile app.
The goods news is that a native app for Google’s Music service is finally available in the App Store but it’s not from Google. The name of the native app for Google Music is called gMusic developed by Interactive Innovative Solutions LLC.
Very fast load times. Typically less than 10 seconds until you can load and start
streaming your Music library.
After that the rest of your collection will trickle in.
Search by Artist, Songs, Albums, or Genres
We were surprised that Apple has approved the app for Google Music as it competes directly with Apple ‘s iTunes and we’ve seen Apple occasionally reject apps that replicates some of the core functionalities of the iPhone . We hope that Google takes the lead from gMusic and launches its own native app for free.

Apple Working To Secure Worldwide iCloud Music Rights Ahead Of ‘Let’s Talk iPhone’ Event

However, at that time, Apple announced that iCloud features such as iTunes Match, which allows users to store their entire music collection (up to 25,000 songs), including songs that they’ve ripped from CDs or purchased from anywhere else in iCloud, will be available only to users in the U.S.
We’ve good news for some international users.
reports that Apple is very close to signing deals with right holders to bring the iCloud music storage and iTunes Match service to users in U.K., Germany and France:
Sources familiar with the discussions between Apple , record companies, and music publishers, say Apple is seeking international music licenses for its iCloud service. The licenses would be similar to those the company has already obtained for U.S. operations, the sources said.
According to CNet, Apple is working hard to sign the agreements ahead of next week’s
event, so that it could make the announcement.
Let’s hope that Apple can secure the deals, as iCloud without iTunes Match won’t be too appealing to international users.

Google Releases Google Music Web App For iPhone, iPad And iPod Touch

Back in May, Google launched its music streaming service called

Though Google Music kind of worked on the iPhone , iPad or iPod touch, the interface wasn’t optimised for iOS devices.
That has just changed. Google has released an HTML 5 iOS optimised web app for its Google Music service. Google announced the launch of their new web app on Twitter:
Music Beta users – try the new mobile web app for iOS4 and listen to your music on the go: http://music.google.com
The web app allows you to only listen to music but doesn’t support allow you to upload or manage your music collection. In our opinion, even though Google has brought us some of the best web apps for iPhone , iPad and iPod touch like Gmail and Google Music web app appears to be quite slick, services like Google Music needs a native app. However, we are not sure if Google’s decision to launch a web app has something to do with Apple ‘s App Store policies.
The Next Web asked Google if they plan to release a native app in the App Store and they didn’t comment on it. It will be interesting to see if Apple will approve an app that directly competes with its upcoming iCloud and iTunes Match services based on last year’s saga over

Google Music comes to iOS–as a Web app

It may not be much to look at, but Google's browser-based Music Beta interface gets the music-streaming job done.

Google Music for iOS is here. Sort of.

Google’s streaming service, a rival to Apple ‘s forthcoming iCloud and Amazon’s existing Cloud Player, already offered limited but functional streaming to iOS devices, but only via a clunky, hard-to-navigate version of its full-size Web interface.

Now, when you sign in to your Music Beta account on your iDevice, you’ll find a mobile-browser-optimized interface. In other words, a Web app.

And a decent one, at that. A horizontally scrolling toolbar lets you browse your Google Music library by album, artist, song, playlist, and genre. There’s also a search option.

On the other hand, the interface feels rather sluggish, and it lacks such basic play options as “shuffle all.” Plus, the now-playing screen shows an album cover thumbnail, but not the album title. (The song title and artist are displayed.)

Meanwhile, the iPad version, if you can call it that, looks small and unoptimized, barely different than what you see on the iPhone .
