Along with iBooks 2, Apple also unveiled iBooks Author, which is a Mac application that will enable content creators to create and publish multi-touch digital texbooks for the iPad.

A patent filed by Apple outlines a unique way of using facial recognition that’s energy-efficient and couples with a multi-user environment for devices like the iPad.
The patent outlines a very interesting way to implement a low-energy version of facial recognition alongside presence detection.

Apple Denied Trademark For ‘Multi-Touch’ By USPTO

Apple ‘s application to trademark the term “Multi-Touch” has been rejected by the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board at the U.S.
and Trademark Office (USPTO). The application was filed four years back on January 9th, 2007, the day Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone at MacWorld.
Apple ‘s request had been initially turned down by a USPTO lawyer, so Apple had appealed to the Appeal Board.
