Have you missed an important call because you forgot to turn on the ringer on your iPhone ? Wouldn’t it have been nice if you could have set the duration for which you want the ringer to be turned on, at time of turning on the mute switch?
allows you to do just that and lots more. It allows you to customize ringing and vibration behavior for calls and text messages.
You can mute all the tones temporarily via Activator, which also allows you to set the period of time after which you want all tones to be turned back on again.
Ability to ignore the mute switch for important contacts, so you don’t miss a call from your boss or wife/girlfriend
, Messages+, RealSMS and tweaks such as
and iBlacklist.
for $1.99. The developer has also created a detailed how-to guide (follow
) to use the features.
Let us know what you think of the jailbreak tweak in the comments.

If you’ve family and friends who have recently switched to an Android (we hope you tried your best to convince them against it) then here’s a tip that you might want to give them.
It looks like iPhone users who switched to an Android based smartphone (or any other mobile phone) may not be getting text messages from an iPhone user.
Due to a iMessage bug when an iPhone user tries to send a SMS to an ex-iPhone user, the Messages app tries to send the SMS as an iMessage, but since the user is no longer using the iPhone , the delivery of the text message fails.
Ideally, even if iPhone tries to send the SMS as an iMessage the first time, it should try to resend the message as an SMS if the delivery of the iMessage fails to avoid this issue.
Log in if not already logged in.
Click on the “x” to the right of the product.
The workaround seems to have worked for several ex-iPhone users who were facing this issue. In fact, we think this workaround will also address the problem where

, which is Apple ’s new messaging service for
,
, which will allow iOS 5 users to send text, photos, videos, contacts, locations and group messages to their family and friends who have an iOS device.
iMessage includes a number of features to the Messages app, which you can check
, but Apple has also resolved one of the minor irritants.
If you are a heavy SMS user, you might have noticed that the keyboard occupies half the screen with no way to hide it, which is not convenient when you just want to look at the message history.
Apple has fixed this irritant in iOS 5. You can now hide the keyboard in the Messages app, by tapping on top of the text box and swiping downwards.
If you want to hide the keyboard in iOS 4.x.x then it’s possible if you’ve jailbroken your iOS device and installed SMSHideKeyboard or
.
It’s another minor feature, but we’re glad that it is finally possible to hide the keyboard in the Messages app. What about you?

iPad and iPod Touch users will be able to send and receive free text messages except, of course, make cellular calls with the
. However, Google Voice app comes with a feature called Click2Call that will allow iPad and iPod Touch users to initiate Google Voice calls from their phones.
Marcus Foster, Product Manager at Google explains how the Click2Call feature works:
Simply click any ‘Call’ button in the Google Voice app on your iPod or iPad and then select which of your phones you want to ring. Google Voice will call your phone and then connect your call.

that can come pretty handy under these circumstances. The iPhone app lets you set a time period for which the message will exist. Post this time limit, the contents of the text message will ”
” making it virtually impossible to track the contents of the message.
To use the iPhone app, both the sender and the receiver need to download and activate the application. The application is designed to retain the look and feel of iPhone 's native Messages app and is hence pretty intuitive to use. However, the sender needs to customize the iPhone app settings to specify a time limit between 60 seconds and 30 days post which the message should be deleted. Contents of the text messages exchanged via the iPhone app are wiped off the TigerText servers once this time limit elapses. Since these messages circumvent the carrier's server, there is no threat from the conventional service providers.
) for free for 15 days with a limit of 100 messages. If you like it, you can either pay $1.49 per month for 250 messages or $2.49 per month if you want to send unlimited messages.
Check out a video demo of the iPhone app below and let us know if you found this iPhone app useful.

Textfree was launched in May of last year as an application that will let users send free text messages to any mobile number in the US as well as receive free replies. The iPhone app comes in two versions: Lite and Unlimited(paid). Users of the free Lite version will be able to send a maximum of 15 text messages per day while paid users may avail ad-free unlimited texting for a price of $5.99 per year.
While the level of profitability is still unknown, Pinger says the company makes sufficient revenues through several channels like in-app advertising, paid downloads, referrals and through in-app purchases.
While Textfree is no doubt one of the more popular among Pinger's iPhone apps, other apps are pretty popular as well. In December of last year, ten of Pinger's 14 apps made it to the top 100 apps list at the same time. The company says there have been 15 million app downloads in all till date and the company serves close to 300 million ad impressions on a monthly basis.
has revolutionized this market. With the imminent launch of
, the opportunities for app developers can only increase from here.
What are your thoughts on this?
