Apple plans to talk about the iPhone 5 next week.

As expected, Apple will be holding an iPhone event next Tuesday at its Cupertino, Calif., headquarters.

“Let’s Talk iPhone “, 
at the media event.
The graphics of the invitation shows iOS icons for Calendar, Clock, Maps, and Phone.
The media event will be held at the company’s Town Hall auditorium at its headquarters in Cupertino, California and is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM Pacific Time.

The Loop has just reported that Verizon has issued invitations for a media event on January 11th.

As you can see below, the invitation contains an image of a lion peeking out from behind the Apple logo, which indicates that Apple could give us a glimpse of the next generation Mac OS X that might be called “Lion”, which has been one of the most commonly-suggested “big cat” names for the next-generation operating system.

Apple on Wednesday invited select press to a special press conference to be held this Friday in California.
Apple would only say that the press conference would be regarding the iPhone 4. No other information was available when I spoke with them tonight.
It will be interesting to see what Apple has to say at the press conference. Has it called the press conference to explain the iPhone 4 antenna problem and how it is a non-issue? Or is it to tell (more…)
