It has been disappointing to see that Apple has still not launched an App Store for the second generation Apple TV.
back in October 2010, there hasn’t been much progress made on that front.

 Troughton-Smith has just renewed our hopes as he along with Nick who goes by the Twitter handle TheMudKip have managed to successfully run iOS apps and Springboard on the second generation Apple TV.

Yesterday, iOS hacker and developer Steven Troughton-Smith and Nick gave us the good news that they had managed to

It looks like in the last 24 hours they have made significant progress.
Steven Troughton-Smith has been posting a number of photos, which seems to indicate that they’ve managed to run the iOS app in full screen mode.

iOS 5 Hacked To Enable Hidden Panorama Mode In Camera App

It looks like Apple was also planning to add the “Panorama” mode in iOS 5 as an iOS developer with Twitter handle @conradev has figured out a way to enable this hidden feature.
MacRumors reports that the developer was able to enable the feature by setting ‘EnableFirebreak’ to YES in com.apple .mobileslideshow.plist.

The game is a simple Blackjack game and not very pretty to look at, but it gives us a glimpse of the potential of the device, which we’ve known ever since we found out it runs a modified version of iOS.

Libfreenect from http://openkinect.org/ project was used for recording the data coming from the Kinect. A textured mesh was created from the calibrated depth+rgb data for each frame and played back in real-time. A simple depth cutoff allowed us isolate the person in the video from the walls and other objects.

iPod Nano Hacked; Could Enable Movies, TV Shows, Games & More
