Five awesome online-multiplayer games for iPhone

If you think Robocalypse is fun solo, try playing it online against live humans.

Solitaire is fine once in a while, but usually it’s more fun to play games with other people.

Same goes for iPhone games: There’s only so much mano-a-Bejeweled a person can take. Fortunately, there are some terrific apps that let you compete in real-time against other real, live humans.

And not just (more…)

Protect your shack from the undead in the amusing, innovative TD game Zombie Attack.

If there’s a bigger game genre for the iPhone than Tower Defense clones, I haven’t found it. A quick search of the App Store reveals well over 100 titles matching that description.

No surprise there: The iPhone ‘s touchscreen lends itself perfectly to this kind of game (which, for the uninitiated, requires strategic placement (more…)

Keep BetterDeal on hand at the grocery store to figure out which size offers the best deal.

As I often tell people, it’s not the price of the iPhone that bothers me–it’s the monthly fees! (Grumble, grumble, AT&T, grumble.)

Alas, while there’s no way to get around that $70/month minimum, at least I can use my iPhone to save money on other things: gas, groceries, books, DVDs, and even energy. Let’s take (more…)

Free apps like Howcast provide video tutorials anytime, anywhere.

I’m not the handiest person in the world, which is why I tend to reach for the telephone more often than the toolbox. (The plumber’s on speed-dial.)

A few months ago my nine-year-old daughter was clamoring for a Nintendo DS. And by “clamoring” I mean following me around the house chanting, “Can-I-have-a-DS, Dad, can-I-have-a-DS, Dad?”

Save 50 percent on the Bike or Die-inspired Moto X Mayhem.

Nothing beats a good iPhone game when you’ve got five minutes to kill (or pummel, as it were).

Much as I love freebies, sometimes you have to pony up to get the games you want. Fortunately, even the top titles occasionally go on sale, as with these five gems:

Fist of Fury Boxing Normally $4.99, this Nintendo 64-style slugfest is on sale for (more…)
