How large will the iPhone 6's display be? It's a done deal at 4.8 inches, says Cowen and Company.

A consensus of analyst speculation is building for an iPhone that’s not quite 5 inches.

After a spate of recent speculation about Apple ‘s next iPhone , Cowen and Company analyst Timothy Arcuri has chimed in, claiming an iPhone 6 with a 4.8 inch display is locked down, as reported by AppleInsider.

The iPhone 5S has dramatically outsold the iPhone 5C. Or has it?

A recent report from Localytics found that the number of iPhone 5S activations outscored those of the 5C by a factor of 3.4. But one analyst believes the gap in actual sales is much narrower.

iPhone 5S, 5C release date set in China, rumor claims

Put this in the rumor hopper: A report out China claims that the iPhone 5S and 5C will be released in China about two months after the release in the US.

iPhone 5S hit by fingerprint sensor issues, claims report

Problems with Apple ‘s fingerprint-recognition technology might trigger a cut in shipments for the iPhone 5S, according to the Taiwan-based DigiTimes.

Citing sources, DigiTimes claims that poor production yields of the chips for both the fingerprint-recognition and LCD drivers will force Apple to trim the initial shipments of the upcoming phone, which is expected to launch this September.

Apple to cut iPhone orders for rest of year, claims analyst

Apple may trim its iPhone build orders for the rest of 2013, at least according to a new report from analyst Peter Misek.

In an investors note released Sunday, Misek said Apple has already revised its build plans. iPhone orders for the calendar third quarter will be cut to 25 million to 30 million from 40 million to 45 million previously. And orders for the fourth quarter will drop to 50 million (more…)

Apple looking at 5.7-inch iPhone, claims report

A rumored 5.7-inch Apple device would take on the 5.5-inch Samsung Galaxy Note.

Apple is exploring iPhones as large as 5.7 inches, as it feels the heat from large-screen rivals, according to Reuters.

The company is considering the introduction of “at least two bigger iPhones next year,” the report said.

iPhone 5S to launch June 20, go on sale July, claims report

Apple will unveil its next iPhone on June 20 and kick off sales in July. At least, that’s the claim from Japanese Mac enthusiast site MacFan.

Marking its 20th anniversary as a Mac-oriented Web site, MacFan suggests that the next-generation iPhone will take the stage at a Apple event on Thursday, June 20. The new iPhone will then go on sale a few weeks later in early July, as reported by Electronista.

Apple, Samsung to offer wireless phone charging, claims report

Owners of the iPhone 5S or Galaxy S4 will be able to charge their phones wirelessly, claim the folks at DigiTimes.

Based on its usual “industry sources,” DigiTimes says the next-generation iPhone will use wireless charging technology developed by Apple . But the sources couldn’t say whether the phone would be built with the wireless charging feature or rely on an attached accessory.

Low-cost iPhone will be like a plastic iPhone 5, claims story

Apple ‘s low-cost iPhone will look like the iPhone 5, take some cues from the iPod Touch and the iPod classic, and switch to a plastic body.

At least, that’s the latest scuttlebut from the folks at iLounge. Citing the usual “reliable sources,” the blog site claims the new model will be a cross between the iPhone 5, the fifth-generation iPod Touch, and the iPod Classic.
