According to my sources both inside and outside Apple , after Antennagate the iPhone engineering team identified another potential design flaw that appears to have sent them into a quiet lockdown, and has them working behind the scenes in what's been described to me as something of a quiet panic to preempt any further tarnishing the iPhone brand. “My wife and I both have the same exact problem with out phones. I was on an hour phone call this evening and my phone muted me 5 times, put me on hold and tried calling my work and then put me on hold and tried to send a text message to my work. This is very dissapointing. Ok, that last one with the text message is kind of funny. But for someone who has had apple products for years on end, this is about the worst experience I've had so far.”

“Syncing is horribly implemented. There's no feature to manually select which contacts/friends you would like synced. The app itself automatically chooses which facebook user, not friend, is synced to each contact in your iPhone contact list. The reason I say “facebook user” and not “facebook friend” is because it will sync random facebook users to iPhone contacts with the same name; even if you aren't friends with said random facebook user.
