The iPhone 5C has lured almost half of its users from Samsung, LG, and other rival smartphone makers, according to research firm Kantar Worldpanel ComTech.

Best Buy promises $100 trade-in credit for new iPhone buyers

Smartphone owners willing to give up their current phone for a new iPhone can save a few dollars through Best Buy’s latest trade-in program.

Starting October 13 and ending October 19, you can trade in any working smartphone for a $100 credit. If the phone is judged to be worth more than $100, Best Buy will dole out the remaining amount through a gift card. Your current (more…)

Apple snagged 20 percent of its iPhone buyers from Android

Apple seems to be doing a good job at wooing customers away from other mobile platforms, at least according to a survey conducted by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners.

In a report summarized on Monday by Fortune, CIRP found that 20 percent of Apple iPhone buyers between July 2012 and June 2013 jumped ship from an Android phone. Drilling down further, only 7 percent of Samsung smartphone buyers (more…)

Apple ‘s iPhone is the No. 1 pick among prospective smartphone buyers polled in North America, though it’s losing some ground to Samsung.

iPhone 5 buyers won’t be getting a Lightning to 30-pin adapter on the house after all.

Reports that the new phone would come with the adapter surfaced today after some of Apple ‘s online stores listed it as packaged with the iPhone 5.

iPhone buyers, fear not over carrier subsidies, says analyst

iPhone buyers have nothing to worry about, at least when it comes to carrier subsidies.

Recent moves by two Spanish carriers to eliminate subsidies for new iPhone users triggered fears that other carriers could do the same. Removing the subsidy paid by carriers to Apple means buyers would have to shell out the full retail price for the phone.

Android nabbing more than half of new smartphone buyers

Apple was named the best-selling U.S. handset brand during the fourth quarter, according to a new report from the NPD Group.

However, the findings suggest that while iOS has won this battle, Android is really winning the war.
