UK’s Chief Rabbi Blames Steve Jobs And Apple For Creating “Egocentric Culture”

Lord Sacks, UK’s chief Rabbi, in an interfaith gathering attended by the Queen, blamed
for creating an “egocentric culture.” He said that the consumer-driven society, which Apple helped create, spread unhappiness amongst people.
“People are looking for values other than the values of a consumer society. The values of a consumer society really aren’t ones you can live by for terribly long.

. While most of them were optimistic about the developments happening in the HTML 5 scene, many Flash enthusiasts were unsurprisingly not pleased with the decision.
Mike Chambers, Product Manager for Flash at Adobe, has penned a 2000 words long post on his personal blog outlining the major reasons Flash as a web platform didn’t gain critical mass on mobile phones leading to Adobe’s decision.

Report Claims iPhone 4 Caught Fire; Blames Defective USB Port

It’s the first time our guy has seen this happen (us too), but the brand new iPhone 4 caught on fire while being hooked up to a computer using the Apple USB cable that accompanied the device. The customer wanted to exchange the iPhone — obviously — for a new, non-charred unit however the AT&T store in question was out of stock. The list of banned iPhone apps include popular applications such as WiFi-Where, WiFiFoFum and yFy Network Finder. In their message to the iPhone app developers, the iPhone app review staff have noted that the ban on iPhone apps is due to their use of private APIs to access wireless information. While Apple has not explicitly spelt out the private API in question, it is being speculated to be iPhone ‘s built-in 802.11 radio.

Speaking at the Goldman Sachs technology conference, Narayen sought to clear the air on two myths that have been doing the rounds. The first he said was about HTML5 being a threat to Flash. Research Firm Blames AT&T’s Poor Network On Disproportionate Wired Network Spending

At a conference call hosted by his firm, Hallaren alleged that AT&T's capital expenditure on wireless networks from 2006 to Q3 2009 totalled $21.6 billion. In comparison, Verizon spent $25.4 billion on its wireless network while Sprint spent $16 billion in this time period. Hallaren argued that the per subscriber spending by AT&T was just $308 compared to $310 spent by Sprint and $353 spent by Verizon.
