AT&T’s long-held complaint about its lack of spectrum is about to end. The FCC just approved AT&T’s plan to purchase a portion of the 700 MHz spectrum from Qualcomm, along with fairly light regulations.
. AT&T cited concern about its lack of spectrum – a
of theirs and one of the major reasons they claimed they wanted to acquire T-Mobile.

Apple Approves and Later Removes iDOS – DOS Emulator App From The App Store

This app is a DOSbox based open source DOS emulator, which offers support for keyboard, mouse and even multiple screen modes. iDos works equally well on the 4th iPod Touch 4G at 960*640 resolution! It had a brief stay at the App Store before being officially booted out. The reason for the removal is still not clear.

In the statement, AT&T wrote:
“Since mid-December 2009, AT&T has been testing the app and has recently notified Sling Media — as well as Apple — that the optimized app can run on its 3G network”
Back then, AT&T dismissed SlingPlayer Mobile as a bandwidth hungry application that ”
could create congestion and potentially prevent other customers from using the network.

FASB Approves Accounting Rule Change – Apple To Adopt Changes Soon

According to the prevailing accounting restrictions, Apple was forced to use a “subscription accounting” principle which required the sale of devices which are part hardware and part software, like the iPhones, to be spread over two years. This meant that for every sale of an iPhone , Apple could only recognize 12.5% of the value of the device at the point of sale. This was extremely confusing to the investors who saw depressed reporting of the earnings.

, called 0870 lets users find alternate numbers to the 08* numbers that are used by financial service providers, government organizations,etc. These 08* numbers are charged 35p per minute over the normal calling charge that the callers have to pay while calling other normal landline numbers that start with 01 or 02.
