Best Buy cuts price of iPhone 4 to $49.99

Those of you in the market for an iPhone 4 can now pick one up at Best Buy for just $49.99.

The new price is half off the usual $99.99 retail amount and requires a two-year contract with Verizon Wireless, AT&T, or Sprint. Potential buyers have a color choice of black or white.

The deal seems to be an in-store only promotion as the Best Buy Web site shows that none (more…)

Has Apple taken control of iPhone5.com?

The World Intellectual Property Organization has concluded its look into Apple ‘s complaint over the iPhone 5.com domain, which seems to suggest a victory for the iPhone maker.

When Apple introduced the iPhone 4 in 2010, it sported a new radical design with a full sheet of glass on its backside. While striking, the design didn’t take kindly to drops on the sidewalk and the wrap-around antenna presented some unfortunate attenuation problems.

iPhone 4S on sale for $149 at RadioShack

iPhone buyers looking for a healthy discount on a new phone can find one at their local RadioShack store, the company tweeted this week.

The retailer is selling the 16GB iPhone 4S for $149.99, the 32GB edition for $249.99, and the 8GB iPhone 4 for $49, all three a full $50 off the retail price.

AT&T gains in customer satisfaction as Verizon dips

AT&T is catching up with Verizon, at least in customer satisfaction.

Dinged for poor customer service in the past, AT&T has been staging a rebound.

The carrier scored a grade of 69 out of 100 this year in a report out today from the American Customer Satisfaction Index. That proved to be a 5 percent boost from 2011, putting it on par with T-Mobile, which lost 1 percent.

iPhone users in no danger of lower carrier subsidies, says analyst

iPhone users have nothing to worry about, at least when it comes to carrier subsidies.

Recent moves by two Spanish carriers to eliminate subsidies for new iPhone users triggered fears that other carriers could do the same. Removing the subsidy paid by carriers to Apple means buyers would have to shell out the full retail price for the phone.
