seem to be popping up from everywhere. A Japanese blog claims that the next-generation tablet will be slightly thicker, but will still support the smart cover.
claims to have some information from an insider in the Asian supply chain. They believe the iPad 3 will be slightly thicker due to some unknown change in the device.
They provided a photo, but offered no real explanation for it. This is probably a prototype case for the iPad 3, as MacRumors suggests.
in order to support a higher Retina-quality resolution, that might explain the change in dimensions. In addition, they claim that the upcoming tablet will have the same size screen, and the rounding of the front corners will be the same. They also claim that the Smart Cover will still be compatible for this reason, although other cases may not fit due to the added thickness.
Frankly, we would take this report with a grain of salt as Apple is obsessed with making their next generation devices thinner, so it is difficult to believe that they will launch a thicker iPad 3. What do you think?
