Chronic Dev Team: iOS 5 Untethered Jailbreak Demo

After Apple released iOS 5, Chronic Dev team had announced that they were working on an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.
However, few days back they revealed things were not looking too good as Apple may have fixed most of the exploits that they had discovered in iOS 5 beta.
They instead released  a tool called C-Dev Reporter, which enables iOS device users to send device crash reports to Chronic Dev team that could be helpful in finding new vulnerability in iOS.
If you’re eagerly waiting for an untethered jailbreak then we finally have some good news, iOS Hacker – pod2G member of the Chronic Dev team has just tweeted a link to YouTube video to confirm that it is possible to jailbreak iOS 5:
🙂 iOS 5.0 untethered jailbreak demo
We’ve not been able to play the video as we get some copyright related error message so it has been difficult to confirm it. (We’ll update the post with the video as soon as the issue is fixed by pod2G)
It is not clear if the C-Dev Reporter tool helped the Chronic Dev team to develop the jailbreak for iOS 5, but the good news it is an untethered jailbreak. pod2g hasn’t provided any ETA on when the tool to jailbreak iOS 5 (untethered) will be released to the public.
As always, we’ll let you know as soon as we have any further updates, so stay tuned here at
