in India, but according to India’s leading news publication
, Bharti Airtel and Aircel – Apple ‘s iPhone carrier partners have already announced that they would launch Apple ‘s new iPhone on November 25th.
Sources said that Airtel will launch iPhone 4S on November 25. The major stores across India would be open at the time of the launch and people would be able to buy iPhone 4S as soon as clock strikes 00:01 on November 25, sources said.
On Friday Aircel had announced on its Facebook page that it would launch iPhone 4S soon. Though no date was given, in this case too it is almost certain that the carrier would launch iPhone 4S on November 25.
This should be good news for users in India as they won’t have to wait too long for the new iPhone this time round. To get some perspective iPhone 4 was launched in India on May 25th, 2009, almost 10 months after it was launched in the US.
Both the carriers haven’t revealed the prices but TOI speculates that it could be between Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000. Airtel and Aircel are also expected to offer reverse subsidy plans to customers buying iPhone 4S just like they had done with iPhone 4, which means that users have to pay the full price of the iPhone 4 upfront but can recover up to 100% of your iPhone 4S cost over a period of 2 years if they stick with Aircel.
iPhone 4S has been on sale in 44 countries since it was launch on October 14th.
in US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and UK two weeks back on October 14th.
It then went on sale in 22 more countries including Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland last Friday, October 28st and in 15 more countries last week including Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, El Salvador, Greece, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Malta, Montenegro, New Zealand, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Romania and South Korea.
We would love to find out from our readers in India, if they will be lining up to get an iPhone 4S.
