Report Claims Apple Will Launch iPhone 5 And Cheaper 8GB iPhone 4 At The End of September

It doesn’t come as a big surprise. Last year, when Apple launched the 16GB and 32GB iPhone 4 to replace the 16GB and 32GB
, it also introduced a cheaper entry level 8GB iPhone 3GS for $99.
The flash drive for the 8GB iPhone 4 is being manufactured by a Korean company, one of the people said on Tuesday, declining to name the company. Apple currently sources its flash drives from Japan’s Toshiba and South Korea’s Samsung Electronics.
We are expecting Apple to launch a 32GB and 64GB iPhone 5 models for $199 and $299 along with a cheaper 16GB iPhone 4 for $99, so we would be a little disappointed if the new entry level iPhone after iPhone 5 launch will come with only 8GB storage.
Reuters claims that Apple is preparing to launch iPhone 5 and the low cost iPhone 4 at the end of September, which is close to the
that some reports have claimed.
Reuters also reports that the much awaited iPhone 5 will “largely identical” to the iPhone 4, but come with a bigger screen, better antenna and an improved 8-megapixel camera. But it contradicts the
that we’ve seen recently, which suggests that iPhone 5 will be completely redesigned with a larger edge-to-edge screen and curved/sloped back.
Though we still love iPhone 4’s form factor and design and believe Apple will still sell tons of 8GB iPhone 4’s at the $99 price point, we wouldn’t mind a completely redesigned iPhone 5.
