Apple Discontinues Boxed Retail Software; Promotes Mac App Store As The Primary Software Distribution Channel

? Yeah, that was Apple ‘s way of giving the good old Compact Discs a farewell. The sans DVD MacBook Air, the
, the Snow Leopard USB stick all were subtle ways, Apple chose to tell the world that CD and DVDs are soon going to be obsolete. And then at
, Apple dropped a bomb,
wasn’t going to “ship”, instead it would be available as a download from the Mac App Store.
Apple has often chosen to completely ditch a platform or technology, like it did with

Reinforcing its message of making the Mac App Store the primary (only?) channel for distribution of software, 
 has sent a notification to its resellers declaring all boxed software in its “end of life” phase. The full list of boxed applications that have been given the “end of life” treatment are mentioned below:
