iTunes Song Previews Will Be Extended To 90 Seconds

We are pleased to let you know that we are preparing to increase the length of music previews from 30 seconds to 90 seconds on the iTunes Store in the United States. We believe that giving potential customers more time to listen to your music will lead to more purchases.
All iTunes music labels would have to comply with these new terms to be able to continue offering their music on iTunes. They would also need to agree to the changes made to the
” they had originally signed agreeing to the 30 second preview.
that Apple had originally planned to introduce this change much earlier. However licensing related issues seems to have pushed back the the proposal until now.
It's a good move as 30 seconds preview in case of some songs was just not enough.
