Steve Jobs: Software Update For iPhone 3G Users To Fix iOS 4 Performance Issue Coming Soon

Macrumors reports that Steve Jobs replied to an email from an iPhone 3G user who had expressed frustration over the performance of his iPhone 3G after upgrading to iOS 4, calling it a “dog slow”.
I've waited patiently through 4.0.1 and 4.0.2, looking for a fix that will make my phone work again. I've read the forums that advise me to jailbreak my phone or use some other method so I can downgrade back to a version of iPhone 3, however I'm not prepared to use a method that is not supported by Apple .

Though Steve Jobs hasn’t provided any details on when the software update will be released, it looks like Apple will fix the performance issue in
, which has been seeded to developers of iPhone Developer program and is expected to be released in few weeks.
