Google Mobile iPhone App Gets Push Notifications For Gmail And Google Calendar
Ever missed an appointment or important email because you were away from your desk? Now Google Mobile App can help with push notifications from your Google account to your iPhone — an icon badge shows you’ve got new mail in Gmail, and Google Calendar event reminders appear right on your home screen.
You can enable or disable notifications for Gmail and/or Google Calendar for a Google account via the Settings tab (Google Account –> Account –> Notifications). You’re can also select the times during, which you want to receive notifications.
Google has also improved the suggest feature, making it a lot faster to search for flight info, weather, stock quotes or currency conversion (you see the answers even before your hit ‘Search’).
So far I’ve hardly used Google Mobile App on my iPhone but plan to use the notification feature for Google Calendar and the revised suggest feature while searching for information in the verticals it currently supports.
Do you use Google Mobile App for iPhone ? Will you use it more with the features introduced in the new version? Let us know in the comments.
