Smaller OLED Based iPads Coming In Q4 2010 – Will You Be Buying One?

The sources have also indicated that Taiwanese manufacturer Compal will be producing the new iPads while Chimei Innolux (CMI), one of Taiwan's largest LCD makers has been chosen as one of the panel makers.
report has suggested that the new smaller version of iPad may be targeted mainly at the ebook reader market while the 9.7-inch device shall continue to serve as a multimedia consumption platform. The sources have also pointed out that the 9.7-inch model shall see minor changes in design though they have not provided any details on the changes.

However, Kuo has expressed guarded skepticism over the latest speculations. He points out the capacity constraints that is being faced by Samsung Electronics, which is currently the largest OLED maker. Kuo has noted that the shortage in OLED panel supply may not ease out in the short term, which makes a Q4 launch of the next generation iPad unlikely.
