The UK retailer also claims that users will be able to make FaceTime calls over Wi-Fi on the next generation iPod Touch, indicating that it will get a front facing camera.
a slide presented by Steve Jobs at Apple 's introduction of the iPhone 4 indicating that the company expects to ship tens of millions of “FaceTime devices” this year. As noted by Daring Fireball's John Gruber, Apple 's decision to use the term “FaceTime devices” rather than simply addressing the iPhone 4 suggests that the company has more in store for the feature, with the iPod touch being an obvious possibility
According to them, the new iPod Touch will come with a three-axis gyroscope that was included in
4, which will bring more gestures and greater precision for an even better gaming experience on the new iPod Touch.
Folks at 9to5Mac report that several merchants on are already offering parts that they claim are of the next generation iPod Touch. As you can see from the screenshot below, the parts have a hole in the center of the front plate, which is probably for a front-facing camera.
It seems quite logical for Apple to bring some of the new features that were introduced in iPhone 4 to the fourth generation iPod Touch.
