Not surprisingly, rival manufacturers have already been exploiting the negative press that
has garnered in order to promote their upcoming products. A recent ad campaign for the Motorola Droid-X read:
“And most importantly, it comes with a double antenna design. The kind that allows you to hold the phone any way you like and use it just about anywhere to make crystal clear calls.”
on Nokia's website where the Finnish giant took a jab at the iPhone 's signal reception issue.
Now, with news about the iPhone 4 reception problem going mainstream, we are noticing a lot more of these humorous digs. In a recent late night show, David Letterman has compiled an amusing top 10 list for the iPhone 4. Check out his video embedded below:
Jeremy Clarkson from the popular motor show Top Gear also poked fun at iPhone 4's reception problem in one of his recent shows.
In a recent keynote speech at the Worldwide Partner Conference, Kevin Turner, the COO with Microsoft compared the iPhone 4 issue with the problems his company faced with Windows Vista. However, Turner was also quick to assure customers that the upcoming Windows Mobile 7 platform shall not see any such issues. Turner said:
“It looks like the iPhone 4 might be their Vista, and I'm okay with that.[…]One of the things I want to make sure you know today is that you're going to be able to use a Windows Phone 7 and not have to worry about how you're holding it to make a phone call”
