The analyst has stated that 7 minutes of Apple 's Keynote address might have been blocked for a presentation from Microsoft. In the presentation, the company is expected to talk about the tools in Visual Studio 2010 that will help app developers write
and Mac OS. Chowdhry further states that the presentation may be delivered either by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer or Bob Muglia, President of the Server and Tools Business (STB) at Microsoft.
This is a significant news not only because of the traditional rivalry between Apple and Microsoft, but also because it will mark a notable change in Apple 's policies with respect to app development. Currently developers who create applications for the iPhone OS can only do so using the
that runs exclusively on Mac OS.
While the news definitely sounds exciting, we would like to point out that this is a speculation and needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. However, it would be interesting to see if there is indeed an announcement in this regard.
Steve Ballmer not speaking at Apple Dev Conf. Nor appearing on Dancing with the Stars. Nor riding in the Belmont. Just FYI.
However, it still needs to be seen if Microsoft will still make the announcement about the Visual Studio for iPhone app development.
What are your views? Do you see Apple opening up the app development process to Windows users? Tell us in the comments.
