iPad Metal Frame Reveals Possibility of Front-Facing Camera

Mission Repair , a repair company dedicated to Mac and iPhone productsclaim that the metal frame of the iPad has a ”
” that appears to be built to fit in a front-facing camera. Interestingly, the company says the slot also seems to perfectly house a standard MacBook camera. They write:
“We pulled a camera from a Unibody MacBook. Just a standard camera unit that we see everyday. Guess what, it fits right in there. The camera slips in the frame, the lens fits in the hole, the LED that indicates that the camera is on, fits, and the ambient light sensor hole is also correct. It appears that the plans to have camera in the iPad is a reality. I’m looking forward to the iPad. . .Rev 2.”
We are not sure about the validity of these claims. However, if true, it adds fodder to rumors that surfaced late last week that
. From another perspective, we wonder if Apple had a last minute change in plans and decided not to offer a camera on the first version of the iPad; something likely but not entirely plausible.
