To Partner Or Not To Partner – Verizon CEO Throws Ball Into Apple’s Court

Speaking during Verizon's third quarter earnings call,Seidenbergsaid:
We obviously would be interested at any point in the future they (Apple ) thought it would make sense for them to have us as a partner. And so we will leave it with them on that score

and hoped that the companies would engage in a partnership soon which could be mutually beneficial as both the companies can stand to reach out to newer customers.
The relationship between Apple and Verizon has been one of high speculation. While on one hand, we have ad campaigns such as ”
, we also have speculative reports about Verizon and Apple
that could be released next year.
Despite these contradicting pictures of the status of this relationship, Seidenberg's call for a partnership makes good business sense; especially in the light of
where 92% of carrier's post-paid subscriber growth came just from the sale of iPhones. A partnership with the country's largest wireless carrier which also boasts of a superior network quality will also help Apple reach out to a huge chunk of the population hitherto untouched.
