reported about a case where a 15 year-old Belgian had claimed that his iPhone exploded.
Apple claims that based on their initial investigation; the incidents are not due to any battery problems, but have instead been caused by exerting excessive force on the iPhones' screens.

iPhone User Uses ‘Find My iPhone’ to Help Police Nab Robbers

According to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the victim was approached by two men who asked him to handover his wallet and asked for his PIN number for his credit cards at gunpoint.
The victim later logged into his MobileMe account to find the location of his iPhone and informed the police.
The police were able to nab the robbers at a gas station and also recovered a pellet gun, stolen ID cards, credit cards and cash.

Quickoffice for iPhone gets into Office 2007

Good news comes to the iPhone workforce on Thursday, in the form of an update to Quickoffice Mobile Suite. The latest version will now create and edit the Word and Excel documents native to Microsoft Office 2007 on Windows, and Microsoft Office 2008 on Mac. Prior versions did not support these DOCX and XLSX formats.

Find My iPhone leads to arrest in robbery

Find My iPhone , a service Apple provides to MobileMe subscribers, is certainly paying off for one Pittsburgh-area man. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the man was robbed at gunpoint in the Shadyside area of east Pittsburgh by two men who demanded his credit cards and their PINs.

Facebook for iPhone 3.0.1 Released with Bug Fixes

Joe Hewitt has also tweeted that the notifications error is a server side issue, which will be fixed in a day or two.
One of the problems with the Facebook app is that you can’t play the videos. Hewitt has clarified that:
“We still have some work to do to convert all our videos to a format iPhones can play.”

Is AT&T losing its grip on the iPhone?

Apple ‘s exclusive deal with AT&T to offer the iPhone may end within the year, according to a prediction from financial analyst Gene Munster, a senior research analyst at Piper Jaffray.

If Munster is correct, opening up the iPhone to other carriers in the U.S. could be a boon for Apple , which would likely see iPhone sales go through the roof. On the flipside, if this prediction were to come true, it would likely mean very bad news (more…)

Snow Leopard, the OS released for Mac on Friday, poses no new wrinkles for the redsn0w jailbreak or ultrsn0w unlock.
You can use redsn0w to jailbreak any iPhone or iPod Touch using OS X, Windows, or Linux. For both 3.0 and 3.0.1 firmwares, you should point redsn0w at the 3.0 IPSW. If you see it hang at “waiting for reboot”, just unplug and replug that USB cable.

The “Free Memory” feature as the name suggests allowed iPhone users to free memory on demand.
Without the “Free Memory” feature, the iStat app might still be
quite useful for users as it tells you how much time is remaining for
various tasks such as making calls, using the internet, watching videos
and listening to music depending on your iPhone ’s battery life.

As I’ve already told you, managing hundreds of apps on your iPhone isn’t easy. To date, I’ve acquired via evaluation license, beta testing, downloaded or purchased a total of 292 iPhone apps, though only 207 currently reside on my iPhone .
